TUKWILA, Wash. (AP) - Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Mauro Rosales will miss Friday's game versus Eastern Conference-leading Houston after suffering a sprained right knee.

Seattle coach Sigi Schmid said on Tuesday that the injury is different from the one Rosales suffered near the end of the 2011 season, but that he would definitely not play this week and may miss next week's game against San Jose.

Rosales was injured on a hard tackle late in the second half of Seattle's 3-1 win over Toronto last Saturday. The Argentinian was named the MLS newcomer of the year in 2011.

Schmid says he's not sure who will take Rosales' spot in the lineup against Houston.
