Fredy Montero's first goal of the season might have been one of the most impressive scores of his career. Montero scored on a 35-yard strike early in the second half against the Los Angeles Galaxy on Wednesday.

"When you have the opportunity to shoot from that distance you just try," Montero said. "Thank God that ball went into the net."

Montero's goal helped Seattle defeat the Galaxy 2-0 in front of 39,000 fans at the Xbox Pitch.

    Amazing shot
Nice to see that Fredy has the confidence to take that shot. The power behind it was just amazing, really, 35 yards out and the ball barely dipped the entire way to the back of the net.

    Muy impresionante
Gaudette just looked lost and had no clue Montero would even attempt the shot from that spot.
