Injury crash caused massive delays on NB I-5 in Tukwila

A crash that blocked all general-purpose lanes of northbound I-5 in Tukwila cleared just before 8:30 a.m., but drivers dealt with backups long after.
“You want no part of northbound I-5,” KIRO Radio’s Chris Sullivan said after the crash.
The crash was located just south of MLK Jr. Way, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. It caused an approximate 12-mile backup.
One person was injured.

Drivers were encouraged to use SR 99, SR 18 to SR 167, or SR 516 to ST 181/SR509, in order to get around the traffic.
