Best Seahawks defense ever? Not so fast
The 1984 Seahawks went 12-4 thanks largely to a defense that allowed the fifth-fewest points and the sixth-fewest yards.
More impressive were the turnover numbers. Seattle's defense forced 63 of them that season (38 interceptions, 25 forced fumbles). Their 63 takeaways led the league and established a franchise record that still stands. That number also ranks second in NFL history, according to the team's media guide.
For that reason, Brock Huard cautions against calling the 2012 Seahawks defense the best in franchise history.
