Young quarterbacks giving teams financial freedom
The Seahawks and Dolphins were among the most active teams in free agency this offseason.
It's no coincidence that both have cost-effective starting quarterbacks whose contracts take up considerably less of their team's salary-cap space than they would had they been drafted before the new rookie wage scale went into effect in 2011.
In the video below, Danny O'Neil discusses how teams that have found their franchise quarterback through the draft since then are benefiting from increased financial flexibility.
