Will selling at trade deadline help the Mariners?
By 710Sports.com staff
As a team that sits well under .500 yet boasts a number of productive veterans, the possibility exists that the Mariners could be very active before the July 31 MLB trade deadline.
Outfielder Raul Ibanez, even at 41, is one of the best available left-handed power bats available. First baseman/designated hitter Kendrys Morales could provide a significant offensive boost down the stretch. Joe Saunders is a reliable southpaw starter, something that never goes out of fashion. And left-handed reliever Oliver Perez is exactly the kind of specialist contenders look for to push their team over the top.
But even with all the seemingly expendable parts the Mariners have on their roster, Danny O'Neil of "Brock and Danny" has his doubts that any trade will do the team good down the road, as he explains in the video below.

UW's Chris Petersen: No decision on Miles until fall

Seahawks with the most to gain: Byron Maxwell
- Shannon Drayer
Don't expect big changes in Mariners lineup soon
