Hearing Pete, spin the yarn on this game, and the future, its questionable weather he really is seeing what is happening. On Brandon Browner playing starting corner, he say's its a system thing. Well the tape don't lie, Browner may be big but thats all he is, he can't cover average to above average speed and is not able to recover on any type of move. At this point he is the weak link and the Steelers victimized him on nearly every 3rd down from the 2nd quarter on, he must be replaced. An equally large problem is Tavaris Jackson's hesitation to the point of missing the opurtunity to make the play, his lack of confidence or his seeming fear to make a mistake is turning every pass into a 3rd or 4th option usually for 4 to 7 yards. Mike Williams was open and in one on one situations many times in the Steeler game and had only 2 balls thrown to him one so late he could only catch it out of bounds and the other uncatchable, you can't tell me he is never getting open, he should be a 6 to 8 catch a game guy, but if you don't throw to him he can't catch it, same for Zach Miller, i'm willing to give Tavaris another shot in a home game situation just to see if he can get his mojo going, but its starting to look alot like he can't make the reads or when he does react quick enough to be effective. The defense as a whole is playing well the short vardage stands that are becoming very frequent with this D is encouraging, but we have to get some turnovers, tackle the ball a bit more, take that chance and make that pick, this team with its enimic offense has to get some short fields to capitalize. Lastly one of the most disapointing aspects of our game is the running attack or the lack there of, i realize we have below average backs for the most part, but honestly if i watch Lynch run straight at another DT without spining or cutting i'm going to hurl. There is no way Marshawn is a bell cow back, no matter how much Pete wants him to be, he's slow starting, and predictable, after watching Turner and McCoy in the Philly Atlanta game its clear they are a seperate speices. Add one of those to your off season shopping list also.
