The person or people responsible for throwing rocks from I-5 overpasses caught the attention of law enforcement.

Authorities are now searching for at least one suspect who is believed to have damaged several vehicles in September.

The Washington State Patrol reports that five cars have been damaged from rocks being thrown from overpasses in the Seattle area. They aren’t small rocks, either. At least one rock that reportedly went straight through a windshield and narrowly missed the car’s driver weighed in at approximately 8.5 pounds.

710 ESPN’s Gee Scott was in an Uber on southbound I-5 when a rock hit the windshield of that car.

“It must have been like a brick or a boulder … it was at least the size of a softball for sure,” Scott said. “The Uber driver, he almost wrecked. He swerved a little bit. It’s a good thing he was in control and we were safe.”

Seattle police and state troopers are investigating the incidents.
