Scientists have found the first-ever fossil of a spider attack.
They found it in Myanmar, it’s 100 million years old. While giant dinosaurs were walking the Earth, this little wasp is caught in a spider’s web … the wasp is watching the spider just as it’s about to be attacked .. but at that moment, tree resin flows over the scene and trapas the two forever in sticky amber.
I look at this photo and see eternal victory for the wasp, like — “hah, you missed me spider!”
But Oregon State zoology professor George Poinar says, ‘This was the wasp’s worst nightmare, and it never ended.”
