Are we about to legalize pot?

Depends on what you call “legal,” for one thing. On the November ballot, Initiative 502 would allow for, regulate, and tax marijuana. But Steve Sarich doesn’t think the initiative goes far enough. So he’s running a “No on I-502” campaign. He has a medical marijuana card and he wants pot to be a free choice, not something that can get you busted for driving under the influence, even if you’re driving just fine.
On this weekend’s Bill Radke Treatment, I’ll talk with Sarich and Alison Holcomb, Campaign Director for “New Approach Washington” (Yes on I-502). She says she’s disturbed by how many people break pot laws as a badge of honor. “That’s not how we want our criminal laws to work and certainly not when we’re talking about a public health matter. The status quo is broken – we need to so something different.”
