As you finish your last minute Thanksgiving planning, you’ll experience a few slowdowns on the road this weekend amid scheduled delays on area roads.
Most of the planned delays are going to be in the downtown Seattle area.
Denny Way
Denny Way in Seattle will be fully closed this weekend in both directions. To save some time, drivers should also avoid the Denny Exit off I-5. This is to accommodate work for the ongoing Denny Substation construction project.
“This is work that’s getting the Denny Substation ready,” said Scott Thompson with Seattle City Light. “We have a really tight window to get this work done. You also have the holiday construction moratorium coming up, so we’re doing everything we can to make that happen.”
Saturday and Sunday Seattle traffic
On Saturday, you can expect traffic around the University of Washington as the Huskies host the Arizona Sun Devils at 4:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the Seahawks play the Eagles at 1:25 p.m. at Century Link Field. You can expect traffic to slow down around SoDo and the arenas on Sunday afternoon.
