A victory at last on a simple issue with SDOT

I like to push on issues that actually affect people and can make people’s lives better. SDOT is finally considering a way to make your commute faster and easier.

The Seattle Department of Transportation is considering a “low-tech approach to managing traffic at some of the city’s smaller intersections by switching from full traffic signals to flashing reds and four-way stop signs.” They should also make intersections with traffic lights have people on foot cross the street all directions at once. This is something that contributes to people’s quality of life.
And this is the kind of things that government should be concerned with, making people’s life better. But this is not what government usually focuses on.
We can talk Trump and Russia and all the other things in our world but there are things we can actually change by talking to city planners and trying to make a difference locally.
