Watch: In ‘act of bravery,’ Rantz walks in Seattle

I owe Seattle City Councilmember Mike O’Brien a huge apology. He made, originally, what I thought was an outrageous claim.

“We should have a city where whether you’re biking to work or walking across the street to go to the park or pick up groceries or a cup of coffee, that that’s not an act of bravery but an act of daily living and we can do better,” he claimed with a straight face.

I mocked it, arguing it seems like O’Brien doesn’t even live in Seattle if this is how he views the city. But I was wrong.

Please watch this recent trip from Starbucks to the KIRO studios. It was done on Facebook Live so you can be assured I did not edit any of this harrowing video.
