The corner of Minor Avenue and Madison Street will no longer be a place to grab a quick bite to eat at McDonald’s.

The McDonald’s located at 1122 Madison St. is slated for demolition. It will be replaced by a 17-story mixed-use building with ground floor retail and enough below-grade parking for 160 vehicles, according to city documents.

The building will house 207 apartments.

The building’s overall gross square footage will be approximately 243,000 square feet, according to city documents.

What is behind the white walls in the U-Village?

If the developer gets all appropriate permits in a timely manner, demolition of the McDonald’s will occur in April 2017.

According to the construction schedule, the building may not be complete until the fourth quarter of 2018. The schedule calls for the dismantle of the tower crane in the third quarter of 2018, with interior work wrapping up near the end of the year.
