You can call it country-rock or maybe alt-country or just plain 'ol rock and roll but no matter what it is to you, just know that at the heart of it, it's top-notch music.
Ken Stringfellow who has been a member of just about every rock band ever invented (at least that's what it feels like having been with The Posies, REM, Big Star, Sky Cries Mary, etc...) is touring around with The Maldives and there's no doubt that the two shows this weekend should not be missed. I found out about Ken Stringfellow probably three months ago when I was given his latest solo release, Danzig in the Moonlight. Not only is the title awesome but from front to back this album is one for the history books. The range of music within this one record, moving from whiskey soaked country ('Doesn't it Remind You of Something' feat. Charity Rose Thielen of Seattle's The Head and The Heart) to Al Green type soul ('Pray') is absolutely mind-blowing. Stringfellow certainly has learned a lot over his years making, producing, writing and performing music all around the world.
