The Asteroids Galaxy Tour @ Neumos, video here

This past Saturday night The Asteroids Galaxy Tour landed at Neumos and unleashed their brand of soul, jazz and funk infused pop tunes to a very welcoming crowd. I arrived to the club around 10.30p after having already attended an invite only, super secret, just for the elite party in West Seattle featuring performances from great local bands, free booze all night long and light snacks (i love light snacks. much easier to pick up than heavy snacks) all with the purpose of having West Seattle people support the West Seattle arts. Learn more about this here. Ok, enough about something that has nothing to do with The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. I just thought you would like to know that I am super awesome and people have no problem giving me the gift of complimentary music and booze. Moving on now.
It's now 10.35p and I've just met up with a few friends outside of the club. We caught up with each others lives quickly as we weren't on Capitol Hill to talk about lost loves and what we think makes up a great grilled cheese sandwich, we were on the hill to dance the night away and sweat until our boots were filled to the brim. We entered Neumos and head upstairs to grab a drink. The band that was playing just ahead of The Asteroids Galaxy Tour had left the stage some time before we had arrived and people had already begun flocking to the main stage area on the ground floor of Neumos. We followed suit and made our way to the back of the club behind the throng of people waiting to hear the Danish Mette Lindberg and Co. entertain for the evening. The lights went dim, the crowd exploded and the band started the set with 'Heart Attack', the latest single from their new record Out of Frequency...
The lighting wasn't exactly the best for video recording purposes so Mette looks totally washed out.
After a few songs I was tired of the wallflower lifestyle so I decided to make my way to the front of the club. I busted through the crowd as fast as I could (which wasn't fast at all. it's challenging to get past big people built like tree trunks) in order to get as close as possible to the front of the house. I needed to get singer Mette Lindberg on film for 2 reasons. First, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, (much like the duo Sleighbells once were) is a band I know is really going to blow up and being able to see them perform in a smallish club like Neumos won't be a luxury like it is now. I believe this could very well be a Sleighbells moment. Second, Mette Lindberg is effing hot. So I'm standing at the front of Neumos with my video recording hand raised just as high as I can stretch without dislocating the appendage and I notice Mette noticing me noticing her. She reached for my camera and I was reluctant to give it up as I thought that she might toss it or keep it never to return the thing. Check the video below to see what happened...
Great band, great show. If The Asteroids Galaxy Tour land in your town any time in the near future I think the smartest thing you could do would be to check these guys out.
