New Music: Cat Power - 'Ruin', 'Cherokee'
June 26, 2012 @ 10:53 pm

I'm not completely familiar with Cat Power but the one thing I do know is that her oh so sultry, seductive voice and beautifully constructed heart swelling music, especially the songs 'Lived in Bars', 'The Greatest' and Handsome Boy Modeling School's 'I've Been Thinking' feat. Cat Power, all make me want to cry. Have a stiff drink and cry.
Cat Power has a brand new record coming this September 4th called Sun and she's just released 'Ruin' and 'Cherokee', two tracks from the album that you should probably listen to before you die.
Go here to download 'Ruin' for free.
And, thanks to NPR for streaming Cat Power's newest of the new songs, 'Cherokee' which you can listen to below. Make sure to go to NPR's website for even more great tunes from Jeff the Brotherhood, Grizzly Bear, Nas and others.
Ok. Here's a bit of truly wonderful melancholy.
