Just a few weeks ago, Black Moth Super Rainbow bandleader and songwriter Tobacco announced a Kickstarter, pitched to the public by Tim & Eric's Eric Wareheim, to raise funds for the physical release of his new record, Cobra Juicy. Well, after a blitzkrieg first 24 hours, Tobacco raised over $30,000, and to date, the Kickstarter is almost 200% funded at $85,000! The fans have spoken. Not only do they want a new BMSR record but they want it in mask-form. That's right, one of the gifts for pledging is a limited edition latex mask (like the one Tobacco is wearing above) that features a USB tooth containing the new record on it. If you've never heard of anything like this, that's probably because it's never been done before.
Well, gang, because of the overwhelming support of the project, we are pleased to announce an official release date for the record. Cobra Juicy will be released on Tobacco's own Rad Cult label on October 9th, 2012. Check out the new single, 'Winshield Smasher' below...
