Video from Bumbershoot: Deep Sea Diver, Niki & The Dove, The Young Evils...

I had a short list of bands that I absolutely wanted to see while at Bumbershoot and not only did I get to see those bands, (Niki & The Dove, Black Breath, Katie Kate) but I fell in heavy like ('heavy like' because 'love' is such a strong word that has big meaning behind it that i'm not ready to attach myself to) with several others that I have been exploring since this past weekend.

Deep Sea Diver is Jessica Dobson, Peter Mansen, John Raines & Michael Duggan. Jessica is the touring guitarist for The Shins and has also worked with Beck and The Yeah Yeah Yeah's over the years and she's finally been able to put out her debut record, History Speaks as Deep Sea Diver. Listen to my chat with the band below...
AM & Shawn Lee have mega successful careers in the music biz on their own and the guys just recently joined forces to put out their debut record, Celestial Electric. I found out about these two just weeks before Bumbershoot and just had to make their set.

The Young Evils have been on the scene for a couple of years and I just finally got on the bandwagon. I mean, I totally saw the bandwagon like a year ago and I missed the damn thing. Ok. Full disclosure. I missed the bandwagon because I was brushing my hair and it was one of those days where my hair just wasn't working, like, at all. I heard The Young Evils passing by my apartment singing 'Get Over It' and I knew that I needed to get out and catch them. I still regret that day. My hair, however, that day one year ago, was the sh*t.

Niki & The Dove is a Swedish duo who I've been following for some time now and they were also recently co-signed to Seattle's Sub Pop music label and Mercury Records. If you're a fan of The Knife or if you just enjoy really, really good music, then you'll dig the electro stylings of Niki & The Dove.

The Miracles Club is a collective from Portland, OR who make some of the coolest '90's house grooves this side of the mountains. Plus, when you see them live they have a dancer who is freaking fun as hell.
