Watch: South Everett home invasion suspects caught on camera

EVERETT, Wash. — Snohomish County detectives are hoping clear video images of two home-invasion robbery suspects will lead to their capture. A webcam recorded the two men in their 20s breaking into a South Everett home Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Investigators say the suspects kicked in three doors as if to look for someone hiding inside. Once they found the homeowner hiding in a bathroom, the suspects assaulted her while ripping off her necklace and stealing the cellphone from her hand.

“The doors were locked,” said Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokesperson Shari Ireton. “Most people expect that they are safe in their own home when their doors are secure.”

The suspects are seen ransacking the woman’s bedroom while asking, “Where’s it at?” Detectives don’t know what they were looking for but within two minutes, they were gone.

Neighbor Courtney Hill watched the video. She said locking doors is the only way she can protect her family.

“It’s just me to protect my kids,” she said. “If somebody was to break into my house, what am I supposed to do against two guys that break into your house? What if my kids were there?”

Investigators say it’s highly unusual and very concerning burglars would take the time to confront a homeowner but they hope someone who knows the suspects will identify them.

“That video is going to help us identify these guys and get them off the street as soon as quickly as we can,” said Ireton.
