‘Suspicious package’ shuts down Edmonds ferry route

Authorities reportedly shut down the Edmonds-Kingston ferry route Sunday afternoon to investigate a suspicious item. Washington State Ferries shutdown reported the shut down at 2:30 p.m. It came back on service just before 4 p.m.
KOMO News reports that Ian Sterling with Washington State Ferries says a package on the Puyallup ferry appeared to have wires. Q13 reported that passengers noticed a bag with wires hanging out of it.
The Spokane ferry was holding offshore and likely to return to Kingston, KOMO reported.
