Building a wall seems tame compared to France election

France has a presidential runoff election Sunday, and all eyes are on Marine Le Pen of the National Front.

She wants to drop out of NATO, drop out of the European Union, and to keep France for the French.
We happen to have a French speaker in the house, so we listened to an entire Marine Le Pen rally, and I thought you might like to hear a few excerpts – on Muslims who insist on traditional dress for women.
“The submission of women, banned from wearing skirts at work or play — no woman who believes in dignity and freedom can accept this, and there will not be any other laws and values in France other than French laws and French values.”
And just to make sure everyone understands her immigration policy:
“Those who are coming to France are here to find France, not to change it into the image of their own home country, but if they wanted to live like they do at home, they could just simply stay home.”
At which point the crowd started chanting “Go Back Home.”
“We have not finished being French.”
I have to say, it makes our little debate over building a wall seem pretty tame.
