Sweet or spicy? Delicious homemade bourbon BBQ sauce

We’ve got two delicious barbecue sauce recipes lined up for you. One giving you the sweet side of barbecue, while the other provides the spicy kick, both using sweet Brown Sugar Bourbon.

Sweet As BSB

Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 x onion finely chopped
1 x clove garlic minced
1 1/2cups ketchup
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup BSB – Brown Sugar Bourbon

Instructions
Saute garlic/onion with oil until tender, then mix in remaining ingredients.
bring to boil, then simmer on low for 15-20mins

Blitzen BSB BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 x onion finely chopped
1 x clove garlic minced
2 x habanero peppers diced (I actually used 3)
2 cups ketchup
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
Hot sauce (anywhere from 1 teaspoon and up)
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup BSB – Brown Sugar Bourbon

Instructions
Saute garlic/onion with oil until tender, then mix in remaining ingredients.
bring to boil, then simmer on low for 20min..allow the habaneros to do their thing!
