Michigan’s Ron Buckner is a friend of the Ron and Don Show. He has been a fan of Soundgarden and singer Chris Cornell since the early ’90s. So naturally, he was at the band’s last show on May 17, 2017 in Detroit.

He’d like to say it was an amazing performance by one of his favorite artists. But he has to admit that something seemed off at the concert which took place just hours before Cornell died.
“Honestly, it did seem like something was off,” Buckner said. “I’ve been a big fan of Chris and Soundgarden for some time … I’ve seen Chris Cornell perform in just about every aspect of his career with Soundgarden, with Audioslave and solo …”
“It was off right from the beginning,” he said. “Last time I saw him was here in Grand Rapids on a solo tour this past summer. He was his usual self, introducing songs with long stories and had a great report with the audience and good energy on stage. Last night, he came out and to me, honestly, I’d love to say it was an amazing show and he rocked it. But it really looked like he was going through the motions last night. He was saying all the right things, ‘Detroit, you’re such a great crowd.’ But it didn’t seem genuine … he was fighting to put on a show.”
