Nancy Lanza wanted to move son to a school in Washington

The mother of Adam Lanza, identified as the gunman who in the massacre in a Connecticut elementary school, had talked about moving her son to Washington state to attend school.

Connecticut State Police say the relationship between Adam Lanza and his mother could be key to discovering his motive for the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, but they aren't saying more today. Instead, the Newtown community is mourning the loss of 20 first-graders and six members of the school staff.

In interviews, people who knew Nancy Lanza say she was deeply devoted to her troubled younger son, who was extremely bright but socially awkward and — until Friday — was not known as someone who was potentially violent.

A family friend tells The Washington Post his mother recently had been considering moving him to Washington state.

Mark Tambascio, a restaurant proprietor and close family friend, says she had discovered a school in the Northwest she thought would be good for him.

"They were going to move out there together," Tambascio, who had known Nancy Lanza for several years.

Tambascio tells me he doesn't know the name of the school.

"He was her whole life. She was very proud of both of her sons," Tambascio told the Post.

"She never mentioned that [Adam] was suicidal or violent. Nothing like that. Everyone that had spent any time around him, they knew he was a little bit different, but you never saw any major, major issues."

Detectives are searching the Lanza's home for clues that might help explain the killer's motive and plan.

    I'd like to learn
What drugs the shooter as well as his mother had in their medicine chest at home, what the side effects of these drug were and what the outcome might be if they were mixed and used together.I'm guessing because of the shooters autism he was using medication and that his mother may have been using something to cope with dealing with her son on a daily basis.

    Autism doesn't call for medication
I am the mom of a spectrum kid and call tell you that "autism" is not a mental illness you treat with medication. It is a developmental disorder that you treat with lots and lots of therapy. And autism is usually not a stand alone diagnosis. There are often more issues that the child had. In my case, my son also has ADHD. Also, mom's of ASDS kids are pretty resilient. While Mrs. Lanza may have needed meds when first learning the diagnosis (it does come as a horrible shock to parents), it certainly does not mean she remained on them. I have a tough road to and am not on meds that would cause any type of psychotic or other behavior. Just trying to educate.

Violent video games a risk for mentally ill?
I can't help but think that someone who has mental lapses between reality & fantasy might be triggered by this type of stimuli to do terrible things!

That also sounds like religion, so unless you want to find the root cause of his disassociative euphoria you shouldn't blame video games, because I'll blame Jesus.

Sure. Move them here, it's "fair" and people "care". How "progressive".
Fantastic. Yeah, I'd like someone like him in my gran-daughter's school. Suuure. As to what drugs he or his mother were taking; it's none of your business. And by drugs are you refering to prescription meds or the pot you lefties think will cure all that is evil in the world...

    why move here?
There are many excellent psychologist and psychiatrist in the Puget Sound Region. In the mental health field, we have a variety of options. I don't know who the shooters mother considered but I'm not surprised she was checking resources in our area. Working to understand whatever mental illness causes someone to perform such a horrific act will be discussed for some time. Just remember, when you have a disorder of the pancreas they call you diabetic or hypoglycemic, but if you have a disorder of the brain you are call crazy! Behavior is affected by the brain, as well as other organs, and someday, we will be able to stop this from ever happening again...

Expect to see more and more violence with and without using a gun.
As more and more people turn away from God and toward Satan as a result.

This is not about "Gun Control" it is Evil vs. Good!

At what point in time, assuming that it ever arrives, do YOU begin to read the Bible and pray to God for help and healing?

I do pray and have read the new testament. God may hang out in the green room but he expects people to pass intelligent laws -that prevent non-police/military from possessing AR-15's.
