A Seattle 'Superhero' says he has an embarrassing problem

Seattle's self-appointed crime fighter Phoenix Jones isn't afraid of running after suspected robbers or breaking up fights, but he is intimidated by words, spelling and grammar.

Jones says at the age of 17 he was diagnosed with a mild form of dyslexia.

Dyslexia is a learning disability that impairs a person's fluency or comprehension accuracy in being able to read. Quite often letters in words appear out of order for someone who is dyslexic.

"Instead of embracing this and learning to change or control the problem I just decided to avoid writing as much as possible and talk to people instead," Jones writes on his website The Phoenix Jones.com.

Now he's realizing as a masked crime fighter, he needs to write police reports just as officers do.

"All my life I have been embarrassed by my spelling and general grammar," says Jones. "I understand the rules of writing and can pass standardized tests but when I type my own thoughts they seem pretty jumbled."

While his website says "coming soon" no date is set for the release of his comic book.

    you are
an idiot. glad you think this is something to joke about. if you are at the age where you produce children, i hope one has dyslexia,so you can see just how funny it is. doubtful anyone will want you touching them long enough for that to happen though, you being such a creep and all :)

they called you out and your best response was some weak sauce scarcasm and an: "oh yeah? your grammar is bad."

fools who have no comeback always go to the poor grammar insults. it's a sign of a weak mind.

Just wanted to mention that you are supposed to capitalize the first letter of a new sentence/paragraph. (My weak mind forced me to mention that!)

And, BTW, there were no "they" .

Further, how exactly was I called out, as you put it?

I left an innocent light hearted humorous post, and some dope with the writing skills of a 4 year old, (which are just above your skills, BTW)calls me an idiot, wishes my child to be dyslexic, insults all the women I have been with in my life, and tells me I am creepy.

    Sigh

After I finished crying, ;-} I responded at his/her level, so they would comprehend my response.

Did you really expect me to take pepsi freak seriously?

PS: I was not being scarcastic . Facetious, maybe. But definitely not scarcastic ... :~]

    first off...
"fa·ce·tious /fəˈsēSHəs/Adjective Treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor"

yeah, that's not what you did. you used sarcasim: "sar·casm /ˈsärˌkazəm/Noun The use of irony to mock or convey contempt."

so, there's that. you also attack trying to act more intelligent, when you actually have NOTHING of value to add.

btw, i INTENTIONALLY type in ALL lower case. i ALWAYS have on this site, as i consider it informal. i'm not writing a letter to a professional.

OH, and i used "they" because i don't know the gender of the user and i don't want to make an assumtion, so i use the gender-neutral THEY, which is appropriate. observe: "Singular they- Indeterminate gender – when they refers to an individual person of unknown or unspecified sex, as in, for example, "One student failed their exam". This usage is known as epicene they."

    nice try, though!

i like that you allude that I'M "pepsi freak"...
is that because my "tad" icon is also the pepsi logo?

i assure you, that's NOT me.

if they did the whole Amazon, "acutal person" verification on this site, i'd do it, just so ANYBODY could know that i'm a REAL person who doens't use stupid aliases to play multiple characters on a news website.

YOUR comment, however does sound like YOU are playing multiple characters. especially since both myself AND "pepsi freak" didn't comment on grammar. i merely spoke out against people who attack grammar, yet have no ACTUAL argument. and "pepsi freak" was protecting (albeit overly, maybe) kids with a learning disability.

soo is the one who attacks grammar.

please keep your alter egos in order. it's tiring pointing out how you can't play/manage multiple characters on this site.
