New Miss Seattle was 'annoyed' with us

Nineteen beautiful, young women competed for the title of Miss Seattle over the weekend. The winner is Jean-Sun Hannah Ahn, a violinist and former Miss Phoenix.

She will compete in the Miss Washington Pageant this summer. Maybe by then she'll enjoy the weather because she wasn't happy with the city, or Seattle residents, in December.

She tweeted, "Ugh can't stand cold rainy Seattle and the annoying people."

MissSeattle

On her Twitter feed @MissPhoenix 2010, she frequently uses the word "annoyed," so perhaps it's just her favorite word. There are other unflattering comments on her page too. She should reconsider the way she's uses social media if she wants to be a public figure. The tweets above were from December of 2011. A friend of hers tells me she had not decided to enter the Miss Seattle Scholarship competition at that time.

UPDATE:

Miss Seattle apologizes for the tweets, in a comment on this blog.

"I apologize for the negative connotations towards the city of Seattle and its people or any other postings when I wasn’t in a positive place. Those tweets by no means reflect my actual opinions or views, I was simply having “one of those days” and sincerely apologize to anyone who took those statements offensively," says Ahn.

She is a Seattle native, and says she truly loves Seattle "with all of my heart and the support these past months in the Seattle community has just been indescribable."

"I realize now what a mistake it is to post things when your not in a good mood," she writes.

She deleted several unflattering tweets and renamed her account last night to reflect her new title, @MissSeattle2012.

THE BEST YOU COULD DO WAS RUIN A WONDERFUL MOMENT FOR A GREAT YOUNG LADY??
The author of this might think her tongue and cheek humor was worth ruining this young lady's chances of winning at Miss Washington. It must have taken her quite a while to find a quote from two years ago when she was attending school in AZ and probably home on Christmas break. This article was in the poorest of taste and NOT funny.

I am annoyed that this is news story.
As a news story, it comes across as very petty...and annoying. As a Seattle native myself, people in Seattle have been growing more annoying each year.

Yes, as more people have moved to Seattle from other places, people in Seattle have become more annoying.

    Enough Already!!!..........
I can't stand it anymore and I feel compelled to highjack this thread!

The University of Washington men's basketball team has won only their second outright conference championship since 1953 and there hasn't been any article about their run anywhere in this MyNW.com site for over a week; maybe longer!

Now they win a nail biting game on Friday night for a chance at sharing the title with Cal; based upon yesterday's outcome of Cal/Stanford.

Stanford beats Cal in another nail-biter and that leaves the U of W with sole possession of the Pac-12 conference title!

Pardon my frustration with my rant, but I wish someone INCLUDING THE PEOPLE WITH BLOGS IN THE SPORTS DEPT......would take a few minutes and acknowledge this team and this accomplishment?!

A big thank you to writer Jim Basnight for writing a compelling article about Fridays game and the fact that the dogs, are once again on the bubble. This time they need a victory in the Pac-12 tournament for a chance to advance to the NCAA tournament.

Thank you and my apologies NEWSCHICK...everyone can now continue with their comments about flabby arms and body hair.

    To bad your all wrong
She always lived in Seattle she was miss Phoenix when she was away for school. She didn't move to Seattle for anything other than moving home after she graduated with a degree! For all of you saying she's ugly, stupid and anything else I don't see you up there competing. Keep your judgements and opinions to yourself. How would you feel about someone writing this stuff about your daughter/ sister/ cousin/ niece or anyone else. If all you have better to do is write negative comments about a girl you don't even know then go ahead and hide behind your computer screen with your rude and ignorant remarks but all that really makes you is a pathetic jealous coward.

As you can see, Linda replied to people who thought the tweets were old. They were from December of 2011. Is it already 2013?

Go away and stop posting you clearly have nothing but negative things to say.. Why do you care so much?? Why don't you post your picture and stuff for everyone to criticize and make negative comments on. You need to remember that everyone makes mistakes even people in the public eye. She has been miss Seattle for 2 days just relax

    Hahaha
Kking, by all means, please do share how you "think" that telling someone the correct day of tweets is negative. It's a fact. I find it comical that you criticize me for supposedly attacking this girl when you are doing the same thing to me. Maybe you just need to relax. It's the simple fact that if someone wants to become a public figure and represent a city, they have to watch everything that they say. It's called discretion: stopping and thinking before you post something that can and did offend a city of 600,000. It's as simple as that.
