Seattle's bikini baristas vs bikini barbers

Of the many quirky things to come from the Seattle area, we're known for starting the bikini baristas trend. Could bikini barbers catch on here too?

One of the first drive through coffee stands with women wearing bikinis or lingerie started in 2003 at Cowgirls Espresso in Tukwila. Originally the girls wore bikinis one day of the week for a special promotion. Sales took off, and after that more espresso stand owners had their baristas take off as much as possible.

The bikini barista idea has found its way to Oregon, Colorado, Texas and Florida. Meanwhile, the east coast is home to several bikini barber shops.

    At a bikini coffee stand the worst that can happen is you get a bad cup of coffee. At a bikini barber shop the worst that can happen is you have to wear a bad haircut for a month. Stick to the coffee boys, and thank me later.

    fix that bad haircut with another...cutting shorter but a fix non-the less. Been there and done that already more than once.

    but I'm never comfortable is a setting where I'm expected (or preceived to have a desire) to gawk at a woman's body. I may have to pass on this one.

    ... with the phrase, "If you got it, flaunt it." Shoot, if they had topless guys, I'd get my haircut there... If they are treated with respect, and the girls don't have a problem with it, I don't see a problem. If a gal did have a problem, she probably wouldn't work there in the first place.
