Take a plane ride with the Barefoot Bandit

Colton Harris-Moore, behind bars after a two year run from the law stealing cars, boats and airplanes, shot a video of some of his flights.

KOMO 4 News obtained the videos (see more here).

BanditThe seven videos total about 45 minutes. The longest is about 36 minutes and shows Harris-Moore inside a single-engine plane at Bloomington, Indiana's airport in near total darkness.

After a while, it appears the airport opens as all the runway lights and signs come on. Harris-Moore spends the next 14 minutes between idling and taxiing to various runways and taxi ways on the airport. Finally, 22 minutes into the video, Harris-Moore revs the engine and accelerates, weaving a little down the runway before becoming airborne as the sun begins to rise over the Indiana horizon.

The "Barefoot Bandit" was sentenced in December to seven years in state prison for dozens of crimes in our state and several others. Police finally caught up with him in the Bahamas in the summer of 2010 after he crash landed a plane.

    Why does the media
continue to glorify this chump. He's a cowardly little punk that stole from neighbors. I hope that if he ever does write a book or a movie, he has to use the money to reimburse those whose property was destroyed.
