These farmers are sexy and they know it
July 8, 2012 @ 4:05 pm (Updated: 4:42 pm - 7/8/12 )
Farming is hard, dirty work with success or failure determined by Mother Nature's roll of the weather dice.
I know this first hand. I grew up on an Iowa farm, spending all of my teen years baling hay, calling cows home for milking, feeding pigs, shoveling manure.
This year is already a difficult one for farmers with a drought in the Midwest that's threatening crops.
Farming is also fun, rewarding work.
There is nothing like the end of day, driving a tractor home from the field with the throttle wide open, watching the sun set over a corn field.
Three brothers from Kansas show us the fun of farming in a parody video of "Sexy and I know it" called "I'm farming and I grow it."
The YouTube video of Greg, Nathan and Kendal Peterson has gotten more than 4.7 million hits in just a few weeks.
A feature about the Peterson boys was one of our top stories on MyNorthwest.com this weekend.
I always wanted to leave the farm and live in a big city. Now, I always return to Iowa in the summer to remind me of the things in life that matter - family, hard work, living a decent life, and helping others.
Song lyrics:
When I'm up at seven, the sunrise gives me a glimpse of heaven
I get right to work, a farmer's life can be a little berserk yeah
This is how I roll, I feed the cattle till their stomachs are full
Treat em right, that's my belief,
What's for dinner? I say beef!
Gotta feed Everybody
Gotta Feed Everybody
Gotta Feed Everybody
(Uh-Huh) I work out (side!)
When I step to the bunk (yeah)This is what I see (Uh-huh)
All the hungry cattle are staring at me.
I got passion for my plants and I ain't afraid to show it show it show it show it
I'm farming and I grow it
When I'm in my tractor, I got more power than an arc reactor
And when I'm in the field, I try to raise crops to maximum yield
This is how I roll, without me the world would be outta control
The hours I work, there is no equal
(Stick around for this part of the video)
Water, water, water, water, water
Water, water, water, water, water
Water, water, water, water, water
