Two Almost Live! stars are almost back
July 12, 2012 @ 3:23 am (Updated: 10:15 am - 7/12/12 )
Ballard and Kent, beware. Two of the stars from Almost Live appear to be coming back with another comedy show.
Almost Live! began as a weekly
half-hour talk and comedy sketch show on KING TV with many
spoofs about local communities.
John Keister, as host, had an opening monologue taking jabs at local politicians, celebrities and stereotypes about the region.
Besides Keister, regular cast members included Mike Neun, Pat Cashman, Tracey Conway, Nancy Guppy, Joel McHale, Bob Nelson, Bill Nye, Bill Stainton, and Steve Wilson.
KING canceled Almost Live! in 1999, but lived on in reruns and in the minds of many locals.
Now clips have surfaced on YouTube that appear to promote a sketch comedy show called The (206), referring to Seattle's area code. Will it be an online or broadcast show? These clips featured John Keister and Pat Cashman and hinted strongly that the show would be a successor to Almost Live!
