Lost iPad found in flight attendant's house

A flight attendant for Seattle-based Horizon air has been arrested after an iPad a passenger accidentally left on a plane ended up in her house.

WendyDyeMugshotA Nevada man used an app called Find My iPad to locate his Apple tablet inside the Oregon City, Oregon, home of 43-year-old Horizon Air flight attendant Wendy Dye.

Dye told police she kept the iPad after another passenger turned it over, finding it on an empty seat earlier this month.

She said didn't use the iPad and planned to turn it over to airline officials. Police report they found some of Dye's personal information on the iPad, including a reminder for her husband's upcoming birthday.

A spokeswoman for Alaska Airlines, which owns Horizon, says Dye has been suspended while the case is investigated.

She was being held at the Clackamas County Jail with bail set at $12,500.

Apps that help you track down missing or lost technology can be very handy.

Recently a KIRO radio colleague used a free app to track down his stolen iPhone to a motel in Seatac. Click here to listen to how he did it.

Here's step by step advice on how to find your stolen iPhone or iPad.

Dave Ross and Luke Burbank have had similar, less successful experiences.

    Fire her
She should have turned it in to lost and found immediately just like the honest passenger who turned it into her!! Theft charges should be filed now and she should be fired!!!!

    She's in jail for this???
We let sex offenders out because there isn't enough room in the jails, but we lock her up? Just fine her and put it on her record. That is punishment enough for a dumb crime. This is not a jail worthy offense.

    What an idiot...
and a dishonest one too. I don't know what other evidence we need, She had it. She lied about it (with an absurd story -- why take it home before you "turn it in" when you had it to turn in right there at the airport???). She wouldn't be working for me, that's for sure. Horrible PR for ASlaska/Horizon,too, if they keep her on staff.

    fire her for sure....
but since flight attendants are unionized, the employer probably has to jump through ninety nine hoops to accomplish this.
