The president finally got some positive coverage Monday when he called reporters in to witness his first full cabinet meeting.
He announced, “Never has there been a president — with few exceptions (in the case of FDR) — who has passed more legislation.”
It is already a success.
For those of you saying, now come on, Dave, really? Let’s admit there were some people who considered the Obama administration a success the night we was elected.
Anyway, President Trump then went around the cabinet table, and it was unanimous.
“Where is our vice president?” Trump asked.
“Thank you Mr. President. Greatest privilege of my life is to serve the president.”
“He’s keeping his word to the American people.”
“This is a team you’ve assembled that’s working hand in glove for the men and women of America.”
It prompted the president’s Democratic nemesis, Charles Schumer, to assemble his staff.
“Lucy, how’d we do on the Sunday show yesterday?”
“Your tone was perfect. You were right on message?”
“Michelle, how’d my hair look coming out of the gym this morning?”
“You have great hair. Nobody has better hair.”
Some say that was intended as a parody. But what’s wrong with asking your staff from time to time to give their objective opinion on what you’re doing.
Let me ask my own producer, James.
“James, how much do you admire the work I’ve been doing here? Just tell me whether you think FDR could’ve done any better.”
“Wah wah wah wah wah.”
Really? I see. People, can I have the room please? James and I need to talk for a moment so I can tell him how much I really hope he’ll stay on. After which, he’ll be going on a vacation to the opposite coast.
