For the first time in seven years people were actually watching the Golden Globes.
The early ratings for the Golden Globes indicate that the awards show received the most viewers it’s had in seven years.
KIRO Radio hosts Tom Tangney and John Curley agree, the boost in viewers was likely due in part to the show’s hosts, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
It didn’t take long for Golden Globe celebrations to turn into wayward Oscar predicting.
Even though Tom says the Golden Globes have marginal effect on which way the Academy Awards will sway, some of the big winners Sunday will likely be nominated for the big prizes on March 2.
Oscar nominations will be announced early Thursday morning, and Tom says Golden Globe winners “American Hustle,” “12 Years A Slave,” and “Gravity” will definitely be among those in the running for Hollywood’s biggest award.
