Indie rock legends Built to Spill, Seattle hip-hop standouts Shabazz Palaces and former Posies and REM singer/guitarist Ken Stringfellow headline a stellar lineup for the 2013 Doe Bay Festival.
While it flies somewhat under the radar compared to bigger festivals, the 6th annual gathering on Orcas Island once again features a veritable who’s who of the local music scene. From the Americana-infused folk rock of the Maldives to the soulful sounds of rising singer-songwriter Star Anna, to the increasingly popular electro-soul of Seattle’s Fly Moon Royalty, the lineup announced Wednesday night lives up to its notable reputation.
This year’s Doe Bay Festival runs August 8-11 at the Doe Bay Resort on Orcas Island. Along with a weekend of music, it also features local cuisine, camping and activities in one of the prettiest and most intimate concert venues anywhere.
The Festival has yet to announce the full schedule, but we do know Shabazz Palaces will headline Friday night, Built to Spill on Saturday.
Other bands playing Doe Bay this year include Radiation City, The Torn ACLs, La Luz, The Grizzled Mighty, Tomten and Smokey Brights.
You can check out the complete lineup and get more info here. If you want to go, better make your reservations soon. The festival always sells out fast.
