You have gotten through the worst of it.

Your relatives have come to town, you’ve hosted Thanksgiving dinner; and everyone fell asleep in front of the television a few hours later.

Now what? If you have out-of-towners visiting and you live in the Puget Sound – it’s almost a guarantee they will want to go to one of Seattle’s most famous tourist locations: Pike Place Market.

Let’s Eat host Terry Jaymes and Seattle Times restaurant critic Providence Cicero say that the market is great, but where you should go depends on the time of the day.

If you make it to Pike Place in the early morning, just as the shops are starting to open up and unroll their goods, it’s the perfect time to pay the original Starbucks a visit.

“You won’t have to wait for an hour to get a coffee,” says Jaymes.

When it’s lunch time, Cicero loves taking friends to Beecher’s, so they get a glimpse at how the cheese is made, and grab a sandwich or the Oprah-famous mac ‘n cheese.

Jaymes recommends the “mariachi mac ‘n cheese” from Beecher’s when you take your relatives by, since it has an extra kick of spice.

Cicero is also a fan of Jack’s Fish Spot. “It’s just a counter,” she says, but you can get some crab cocktail to-go, and walk around the market as you enjoy your fresh seafood.”

Looking for a snack? Jaymes’ wife loves Britt’s Pickles.

If it’s already time for dinner, Matt’s in the Market is a mainstay and it will really give your guests that ‘this-is-Seattle’ feeling.

“The arched windows are so beautiful,” says Cicero. “You can see the market sign and the clock and it’s so Seattle.”
