Wednesday marks the 32nd day without measurable rain in the Greater Seattle area. But that dry streak may soon come to an end.

The latest forecasts are calling for rain on Thursday. It’s not much, but KIRO 7 Meteorologist Nick Allard says it’s enough to count.
“Enough to break the streak,” he told Seattle’s Morning News.
Increased cloud cover Wednesday night into Thursday will lead to about 1/100th of an inch in some areas, according to Allard. Most inland areas will max out at about 1/10th of an inch.
That might not seem like much, but by it’s enough to snap the record, based on the definition of measurable rain.
Of course, that amount of rain isn’t guaranteed. If it does rain enough, however, we will fall far short of breaking the record for the number of consecutive days without measurable precipitation. The current record is 51 days, set back in the 1950s.
A chance of sprinkles on the coast will remain possible Friday.
Things will heat back up this weekend, with temperatures in the low 80s.
