Halftime notes as Seahawks lead Vikings 20-17
A few notes and thoughts after watching the Seahawks take a 20-17 halftime lead over the Vikings at CenturyLink Field.
Peterson running wild. The Seahawks have had no answer for Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, who already has 144 yards on 12 carries. He broke free for a 74-yard run on the second play of the game to set up his first of two touchdowns. He has four runs of 15 yards or more. He's done some of his damage by breaking tackles but he's also had some sizable holes to run through. Peterson has been the Vikings' main source of offense, as quarterback Christian Ponder has only completed 7 of 13 attempts for 42 yards.
Wilson on fire. Russell Wilson has completed 10 of 14 passes for 106 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. Three of his incompletions were the result of drops. He rolled to his right and found Sidney Rice in the end zone for Seattle's second touchdown. He has been effective while throwing from outside the pocket this season. Rookie Jermaine Kearse caught a pass for 6 yards on the Seahawks' first play but had a drop on third down during that same drive. Doug Baldwin and Michael Robinson have also dropped passes.
Tate's TD. Golden Tate has two touchdown catches, including one that you're going to see a few replays of. He caught a screen pass at Minnesota's 15-yard line, made three defenders miss and leapt into the end zone. He took a huge hit and lost the ball right after crossing the plain.
Wright out. Linebacker K.J. Wright suffered a concussion in the first quarter and won't return. He has been replaced by Mike Morgan.
