Was Carroll and Schneider's rating of Ingram, Coples, or anyone else, so far behind Irvin's, that extra picks, along with one of those guys, couldn't compensate? That would be hard to believe (of course, that's assuming that they didn't fall too far back). I like the fact that Carroll and Schneider had a target though, were able to move down, and still get their man. They've drafted pretty well first two years, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with this move.

....if you listen to all the critics. Going into the off season the teams top needs were QB and pass rush help. Got a QB and got the best pass rusher available. I'm excited about Irvin and can't wait to see what he can do. It's crazy to listen to the criticism of this kid. He's a bad guy with too many off the field issues, too small, not strong enough, not an every down player. Hmmm...last time I checked the hawks re-signed Big Red. We didn't need an every down DE, just needed some rush help on passing downs. I love how Pete and John pick to the teams needs and not to the fans wants or the critics choice. GO HAWKS!!!

The big question is does Newman or Foundation like the pick? Because if they like this pick, then he is screwed. He probably will be out of the league in 2 years. Now if They hate the pick then he will be the next J-Kearse.

instead of us? Last year their Defense was top 5 w/ a pass rush that was devastating even against some of the best O-lines they faced. Just think what they would look like w/ him playing for them? If you think we had it bad last year losing both games to them, what makes you think that our O-line could handle them w/ him on the edge? If the rumors were true & he did work out for them TWICE prior to the draft, It's not rocket science to think that they wanted him Big Time. Pete's moves are designed to counter what the 9er's are trying to do to us. Which is to keep us down & out of the Division conversation. Great move Pete! We're slowly catching up to them & they know it. If he gets 7 or 8 sacks this year, he's defnitely worth the #15 pick!IMO the better offense will win the Division.Pete & John must have a great deal of confidence in this group of WR's.
