49ers' Smith, Ravens' Boldin are Super Bowl X-factors
49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith finished second in the NFL with 19.5 sacks during the regular season. None of them came during the final three games.
Smith has yet to record a sack this postseason. His five-game sack drought coincides with the triceps injury that has either sidelined or slowed defensive tackle Justin Smith, whose ability to occupy blockers makes life easer on Aldon Smith.
The two-week break between the NFC title game and the Super Bowl has given Justin Smith more time to heal his partially torn triceps, an injury severe enough to require offseason surgery.
How healthy will he be by Sunday and what effect will that have on the 49ers' pass rush? That's something Dave Grosby says he'll be paying close attention to while watching Super Bowl XLVII.
In the video below, Grosby expands on that thought while Bob Stelton discusses the player he thinks will factor heavily into the outcome, Ravens wideout Anquan Boldin.
