49ers coach Jim Harbaugh is right about one thing

By 710Sports.com staff

Coach Pete Carroll had this to say Wednesday when asked about the significance of Sunday night's primetime matchup with the 49ers, which is being billed as the biggest Seahawks game in years:

"It's a championship opportunity for us as it was last week," Carroll told reporters. "It's no different."

Save for a since-deleted tweet from 49ers running back Anthony Dixon in which he referred to the "She-Hawks", the back-and-forth sniping that has fanned the flames of the rivalry over the past two years has been absent. Players from both sides have mostly avoided any so-called bulletin-board material, and both head coaches have been complimentary about the other's team.

While both teams seem intent to not give the game more hype than it's already receiving, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh did concede that winning games over divisional opponents is important because "they really count as two, don't they?"

In the video below, Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby discuss all the factors that make this game one of the biggest in recent memory.
