Why one listener would vote no on new monorail proposal

The monorail is back gang.
A new monorail proposition will be on the fall ballot for Seattle voters. They’re going to decide whether to fund planning for a line between Ballard and West Seattle. It would impose a $5 citywide car tab fee, raising $2 million a year just to study this. Then they would have massive expense if they decide to implement it.
As you may recall, a few years ago, the City of Seattle spent $124 million on another monorail plan. They were going to build a 14 mile line, pretty much the same, from Ballard to West Seattle. They fell so far short of their revenue estimates that they put out this 50 year funding plan. Then finally they said we can’t build the line we promised the voters, we’ll build a much shorter one and the voters said, no, we’re done.
They spent $124 million on that monorail plan and there is literally nothing to show for it. They stole that money.
One of our listeners, Gregory, had proof of the money taken from him. Gregory sent me his vehicle registration renewal from June 27, 2006.
For his vehicle, he had to pay a transit tax for buses of $83. His monorail tax was $388. His total tabs were $508. He paid $388 for that monorail and they stole that money. Why aren’t the politicians who took this money in prison?
Forget about impeaching people like the president. When Barack Obama says I’m going to save the average family $2,000 a year on health insurance and the average health insurance policy has gone up $3,500, he stole $5,500 from every family in America. He has stolen trillions of dollars. Why isn’t he in prison for that?
The monorail stole $124 million from people in this city. Why aren’t the people who stole that money in prison?
