When the president had his press conference last month hailing all the fixes they were going to make to Obamacare. He said what you have to remember is that it’s already working and it’s already helping a lot of people. And the president, he cited a Washington woman as a shining example of how great Obamacare is.

“I received a letter from a woman named Jessica Sanford in Washington state,” said the president. “Here is what she wrote: ‘I am a single mom, no child support, self employed, and I haven’t had insurance for 15 years because it’s too expensive. My son has ADHD and requires regular doctor visits and his meds alone cost $250 a month. I’ve had an ongoing tendonitis problem due to my line of work that I haven’t had treated. Now finally we get to have coverage because of the ACA for $169 a month. I was crying the other day when I signed up, so much stress lifted.’ That is not untypical for a lot of folks like Jessica who have been struggling without health insurance. That is what the Affordable Care Act is all about.”

That was the president talking about the Washington woman a month ago. She’s an Obama supporter, an Obama voter, and she thought she was an Obamacare lover. Here’s what that woman Jessica Sanford is telling CNN today:

“It was a huge disappointment, especially because my story had been shared by the president. I just felt really embarrassed that he had quoted my story. Then come to find the Washington Health Plan Finder, the website here in our state had grossly miscalculated or they’re having a problem figuring their tax credits. And so at least for right now I’m not going to be getting insurance.”

This was one of the few success stories that the president was citing a month ago. The fact that this woman from Washington that the president held up as a shining example is now priced out of the market. The meltdown continues for the debacle that is Obamacare.
