One man had enough after his wife’s latest temper tantrum that he uploaded the whole thing to YouTube, moved out the next day, and filed a restraining order.
The man, who remained anonymous online and in news reports, was driving with his wife on a Saturday. As his wife starts shouting at him, he brings out his cell phone to record.
He said that he had worked a 60 hour week and had told his wife that he was reserving Saturday for chores and errands. But when she asked him to take her out on the lake in their boat and he refused, she didn’t like it.
This woman is 30 years old, and she is on probation for a DUI so she can’t drive.
“Why can’t you just do it for me, why is it so hard? Why can’t you just take me out on the lake?” she sobs as she devolves into screaming. “I’m having an anxiety attack.”
As she screams, she is sitting almost upside down in her seat, kicking and rocking back and forth.
In the description of the original video, which has been removed by YouTube, the man says that this wasn’t the first tantrum his wife has thrown; he says she has routinely shouted at him and told friends and family that it is her husband that is verbally abusive.
“Do you put all of this on the wife? Because I’ve had people say, ‘But listen to how this guy is just trying to egg her on,'” said Dori. “Every time she starts to quiet down or starts to subside, he just tries to get her going again.”
The man moved out the very next day. He elaborated on his situation in the comment section of the original video:
Didn’t promise anything at all. In fact, I had worked 60 hours that week and told her all week that saturday [sic] was my day to get stuff done around the house. But as usual she threw a fit about it. She has broken doors off the jambs at our house…That was the last day I lived in our house. I have moved out and filed a restraining order against her.
