What do you do when you’re stuck on the tarmac and your plane has been delayed? This week Dori found the best and worst examples in viral videos.
Passengers on an Allegiant Air flight from Las Vegas to Phoenix were stuck on planes for five hours without air conditioning or water. They were tired. They were delirious. So they sang R. Kelly’s “I Believe I can Fly.”
“On the flight going home from Vegas, everybody’s drunk. About two percent of them are celebrating the time they’ve just had in Vegas, and 98 percent are just trying to forget how much they lost of their money and their soul,” said Dori.
You can hear them giggling uncontrollably as they sing. Passengers said more than one person passed out in seats and in the aisle.
But Dori loves the impromptu performance that the Philadelphia Orchestra put on when they were stuck on the tarmac for two hours in Beijing on their way to Macao as part of the 2013 Residency & Fortieth Anniversary Tour of China.
“I think I would much rather listen to this than R. Kelly,” said Dori.
