After a suspected drunk driver plowed into a family in North Seattle, the family has received an outpouring of support from the community.
Karina Schulte was on a walk with her 10-day-old infant and her in-laws Monday when the group was hit by a man driving a truck. Karina’s mother- and father-in-law were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, but Karina and her baby were taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
Dori says he just feels horrible for the man whose family is in the hospital.
“His wife and new baby are clinging to life. His parents are dead.”
Days later the mom and baby are still clinging to life, and the community is rallying to help pay their medical bills with an online fundraiser.
So far friends and family have raised over $12,000, far more than their original $2500 goal.
