Listener Robert Pease brought out the musical side of Dori Friday with his original Seahawks version of The Devil Went Down To Georgia to encourage our team to get the win in Atlanta this weekend against the Falcons.

The full lyrics:

HAWKS WENT DOWN TO GEORGIA:

The Seahawks went down to Georgia

They were lookin’ for a game to win

Falcons in a bind ’cause They were way behind

Trying to move the ol’ pigskin

Ryan came across this Wilson man

Passin’ the ball around and playin’ it hot

And Ryan jumped up even though in a winnin’ slump

And said, “Boy, let me tell you what”

I guess you didnt know it

But I’m a quarterback too

And if you care to take a dare

I’ll make a bet with you”

“Now you play football pretty good, boy

But give Ryan his due

I’ll betcha my team is gonna cream ya

‘Cause I think I’m better than you”

The boy said, “My name’s Russell

And it might be a sin

But I’ll take your’ bet, you’re gonna regret

Cause we’re the best there’s ever been”

Russell resin up your hands and play quarterback hard

Cause hell’s broke loose in Georgia and the Ryan deals the cards

And if you win you get this shiny trophy made of gold

But if you lose then Falcons gets to crow

The Ryan opened up to pass

And he said, “I’ll start this show”

And the ball flew from his fingertips

As he lined up his throw

And then Sherman intercepted the ball

And fans made an evil hiss

And the nay-sayers joined in

And it sounded something like this

When the Ryan finished

Russell said, “well you’re pretty good old son

But sit down in that chair right there

Let me show you how its done

Russell’s in the dome, run boys, run

The Hawks in the house of the rising sun

Sacking and tackling the Falcons

Can you catch Lynch? No child, no

The Ryan bowed his head

Because he knew that he’d been beat

And he laid that golden trophy

On the ground at Russell’s feet

Russell said, “Ryan, just come on back

If you ever wanna try again

I done told you once you son of a gun

I’m the best there’s ever been”

Russell’s in the dome, run boys, run

The Hawks in the house of the rising sun

Sacking and tackling the Falcons

Can you catch Lynch? No child, no.
