Wonder no more why young Trevor hates math,

When Kellogg's is leading him down the wrong path!

For how will he ever learn how to keep score

When his breakfast box says...

rice krispies original

Yet rather than launch into violent invective,

I calmly apply a straightforward corrective:

Rice Krispies2

Alternatively, were my name Sheldon Cooper

Perhaps this is how I'd unravel the blooper:

We must not stand silent while num'racy drops,

But steadfastly protest these Snap Crackle Flops.

    The math is actually correct from a philosophical view.

    If you were to have read the whole ad, it all makes sense.

    but from a mathematical view, it's wrong. Which is a bit more important. (Also, I'm pretty sure from a philosophical view it's wrong too. If you define 1+1 as 4 and you define 1+1 as 2--or any other number--haven't you created a system in which all arguments are true [since you've created a contradiction?]) But what do I know. I'm just a math teacher.

    EVERYTHING on this site?

    1+1=4.

    1 bowl of Kellogg's cereal + 1 glass (8 oz.) of milk = 4 nutrients (Protein, Vitamin D, Calcium and Potassium).

    Why is it so complicated for the contributors to the Dave Ross blog to figure this out?

    @ Dave: One has to wonder what kinds of bloggers your blog attracts these days... ;-)
