Listen to Dave Ross Commentary: They have fuel rods

There he was on Iranian television -- Iran's President inserting the first Iranian-made fuel rod into a reactor near Tehran:

He was talking about clean energy -- but our side, of course, is convinced it's all about a bomb -- which is why the US and Europe have cut off trade, and frozen Iranian bank accounts: for fear Iran might someday attack Israel.

But today I saw this quote -- from an anonymous US intelligence official warning that the Iranian leadership "is becoming more isolated... and less risk-averse, partly in reaction to heightened Western economic pressure."

Let me read that again in Slow Motion:

"...becoming more isolated...and less risk-averse, partly in reaction to heightened Western economic pressure."

So -- our own intel people are warning that our efforts to stop an Iranian nuke may themselves provoke a war! And indeed we're now seeing Iran and Israel in this tit for tat assassination game.

Does this have to happen?

I looked it up. Iran is in one of the world's most dangerous earthquake zones.

Remember Japan? Whole cities abandoned, probably forever. And that's in a first-world country building first-world reactors.

If Iran is really intent on nuking Israel, of course it has to be stopped. However, in the meantime, if they want to bankrupt themselves, create piles of highly radioactive waste, and sweat every earth tremor -- well, a lot of folks would say it couldn't happen to a nicer government.

Iran, China, North Korea, Russia nuking up as Obama proposes to reduce ours by 80%.

Don't worry Dave, we've already surrendered. War is over and we're all Commie Muslims now....well, unless the Jews have any instincts of self survival remaining, but so far they haven't shown any. Anyway, they'll be left on their own for this final holocaust. This time we're allied with the axis of evil.

You see, it really only took three years to fundamentally change America.

Seriously Paul? You might really consider turning off Fox News.... You seem to be scared by every little thing and are willing to believe any conspiracy theory anybody has to sell you.... Oh no the US reduced it's nuclear arsenal!?!?!? whatever shall we do since we now only have the ability to destroy the world 10 times over instead of 80 or 90 times... .. You're as dumb as they come if you think the largest Military in the world is somehow lessened by only having a few thousand nukes instead of tens of thousands... What the heck is wrong with you? You obviously didn't pay much attention in school or simply have no desire to understand what is real in this world. The US has more Nukes than anyone... STILL... and we by far have the most and strongest ability to deliver those nukes... Iran currently doesn't even have the ability to deliver a nuke beyond the middle east... Neither does North Korea... China and Russia have had the ability for decades but they're not stupid... mutually assured destruction means anybody that launches inherently will be annihilated themselves... Nothing has changed... the US doesn't want Iran to get the bomb because we would rather not have a psychotic dictator in charge of that kind of power... so far they have not created a bomb... even if they do they won't be able to get it here... so quit acting like the world is going to end tomorrow... you have no idea what you're talking about... go back to your basement and clutch your guns for dear life... leave the internet for folks that have a clue.

Totally agree that reducing the number of nuclear weapons is not a big deal, but a few fact checks... 1) Russia currently has the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons. It's been this way for years. Also the number of warheads the US has is not in the tens of thousands... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_with_nuclear_weapons 2) The number of nukes isn't about how many times each country could blow the world up, it's about having enough weapons spread around such that if a large chunk is somehow disabled or rendered inoperative, the ability for the US to respond is still sufficient. IE retaining the ability to at least blow the world up once... =) 3) The fear of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon isn't about blowing the US up. It's about destabilizing an entire region by sparking a nuclear arms race. Saudis, Iraqis, Turkey, Israel, etc. Just because they won't attack the US with nukes doesn't mean they won't threaten to use them against their neighbors. In addition, there's a fear of terrorists obtaining nuclear weapon technology. 4) Not directing this at you, but most people on the internet don't have a clue anyway... ha.

I agree. Most of what you say is true. The difficult part is, how to deal with it then.

Romney is promising to bomb Iran. Obama said that closing the Strait of Hormuz would provoke military action. (The strait will be closed 5 minutes after bombing begins.) Watch gas go up to 8 bucks a gallon. Kind of bad for our current economy.

Hopefully smart people are right now figuring out what the best course of action should be. Simply beginning the bombing will lead to even greater destabilization. We saw that in Iraq. What better way to galvanize our enemies? You have to think that one reason Iran is developing nukes is to protect themselves from the perceived bullying, imperialist infidels. We did invade both Afghanistan and Iraq after all.

I pray that the people responsible aren't listening to anything they hear on the internet. This is a complex and serious problem that demands nuance. Internet blogs have little to do with nuance.

Yes, yours is a sweaty, feverish hallucination alright.

They were 'nuking up' way before Obama. Still, blame him for everything for you are a Moron.

We haven't 'surrendered'. You think Iran's nuke scientists were executed by Commie Muslims? No. it was Israel with our help.

We're all Commie Muslims? You need a professional mental eval. for you are still a Moron.

"The Jews" don't have a survival instinct? You need a professional mental eval. for you are still a Moron.

"This final holocaust"? Iranians like to snowboard too. You know nothing about Iran. It's people of YOUR generation that have screwed things up and are STILL the problem. Please get that professional mental eval. for you are still a Moron.

We're allied with "the axis of evil"? So you DO have GW Bush posters decorating your cell. I knew it. As far as being aligned with Iran, Iraq and North Korea... You need a professional mental eval. for you are still a Moron.

This international situation is beyond your brain's ability to comprehend so you might as well stop trying. Yes, you hate Obama. People of your generation can't help it. Just remember to turn your oxygen tank off on your way out.

Hopefully that won't take too long.

why did they vote for a U.S. President that hates them and is conspiring for their destruction? If the Jews have a survival instinct why are they more concerned that Madonna might cancel a concert in Israel than they are with the Ayatollahs getting a nuke?

I think the fundamental(ist)... ha ha... question is: Does one believe what the leadership of that country says? Or does one believe part of what that leadership says? What motivates people to be truthful? To lie? If you answer those questions honestly, which is difficult, the proper course of action becomes more clear. Intellectual honesty is in very short supply in the leftist way of "thinking". This has been demonstrated over and over, and is currently being demonstrated in the ways our government is mishandling the middle east situation.

We need to be able to blow up the world 10,000 times. Saving money by reducing that to 2,000 times is UNACCEPTABLE.

Now, let's talk about reducing the Bush deficit and government spending. Teachers. They have it too good. Let's reduce spending on their backs.

People think you're going to hell, Paul. Fact is, you are already there.

    will strike, not surrender.

That may indeed be the point of sanctions. It wouldn't be surprising to discover that they more often result in an outbreak of hostilities than in the ostracized country capitulating on an issue.

or at least their current leaders are being extremely clear, they want to see the destruction of Israel. Believe it or not their are a lot of pro-western young people in Iran, but that is besides the point. If you think the test reactor is for the peacefull production of medical isotopes you are naive!

All they do is anger the population and give the hard liners lots of talking points and more public support.

The average Mo couldn't care less about geopolitics. Except when that means he can't put gas in his car or food on the table. Then, we get the blame.

The point of sanctions is to get the enemy to strike first so that you can counter attack. International public opinion is important and pre-emptive strikes are never a popular option amongst the plebes.....especially when the western populace is so brainwashed by the successful mind control efforts of the ruling elite. The war planners know that the odds of the Iranians capitulating from sanctions is the slimmest of possibilities and that hostile action is the greatest.

Obama is performing his role for the NWO just as he has been selected to do. He promised change, we're about to get it.
