How to quickly cure nausea

Cory Booker is the mayor of Newark, New Jersey and a bona fide hero who rescued a woman from a burning house in his neighborhood last month.

He's also a spokesman for the Obama campaign.

"I'm a surrogate for the Obama campaign. The messages that they're sending me out to talk about is nothing about this," said Booker.

He was on Meet The Press criticizing not just Republican attack ads, but his OWN party for stereotyping Mitt Romney as a ruthless, job-killing Gordon Gekko.

"This kind of stuff is nauseating to me on both sides. It's nauseating to the American public," said Booker.

And when he listed the type of political attacks that nauseate him, he blamed BOTH parties.

"Stop attacking private equity," said Booker. "This stuff has got to stop."

Stop attacking private equity, he said. Except, the Obama campaign just released this web video:

In which workers talk about losing their jobs when Romney's private equity firm took over their company.

"It makes me sick to my stomach when I sit there and watch Mitt Romney tell the American people about how he creates all these jobs," said one worker in the video.

Which may be why, a few hours after his Meet the Press appearance, Mayor Booker posted a YouTube video indicating that the nausea had passed.

"Let me be clear. Mitt Romney has made his business record a centerpiece of his campaign. He's talked about himself as a job creator, and therefore it is reasonable for the Obama campaign to examine that record," said Booker.

Reminding us that just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so nausea is in the stomach of the digester.

Cory Booker seems a decent enough chap.
Which mean Mayor of Newark is probably as high as he will ever go in democrat politics. ......... The one mistake in this post, Dave, is that Meet The Press was Sunday - and it is now Monday in DC. That means Booker is likely already an EX spokesman for the Obama campaign. Sounds too much like a 'Blue Dog' to last much longer. ............... His 're-education camp' will only save him for a short time. ... Toast can cure nausea - but in the end, your still toast.

    Who are the undecided voters?
Could anyone who has witnessed the last three years of evidence, and yet remains undecided, possibly have the intellectual capacity or attention span to understand an ad that is not in cartoon form? Who could possibly be swayed by advertising at this point? Jerry Springer needs to contact them for a special.

    Not an inspiring campaign year......
...so no surprise Mr. Booker points out the obvious. "Below the belt" may be the year's overall campaign theme if things continue unchanged. To show nobody's safe from feeling woozy, this story runs after the KIRO cheeseburger-eating contest in the blog. Bon appetit, whether it's mud-slinging or Dick's-downing. More, anyone?!

Would be nice if incumbents could run on their record and not resort to mud slinging
But then "O-guy" wouldn't have much to say.............of course the staff at KIRO fill in nicely with all the free "O-guy" press.

mnpat: Should only the incumbents be restricted from slinging mud?
Politics is a world of lies, populated by devious and compulsive liars, who each claim to be telling the truth. You need to be slightly more stupid to fall for some of the lies than for others; but with each election cycle the role of lies and propaganda expands in importance.

The standard campaign practice, for both parties, is now to lie boldly and blatantly about the opposition. Incumbents lie about the biography and character of challengers. Challengers lie about the record of the incumbents, eager to politicize issues well out of any politicians control.

People who wanted to lead this country used to communicate visions and goals. These days, it's more typically reduced hateful name calling and personal attack. It must work pretty well. Most of the sheeple walk around repeating the official "talking points" and saying crappy things about one candidate or the other. Funniest of all, as they mouth the key phrases and personal attacks almost word-for-word they all think they have an original idea. :-)

We're all being either used or abused. For most, probably, both.

well Chuck...."Should only the incumbents be restricted from slinging mud?"
It sure as heck would create an opportunity for a greater turnover of scum bag politicians, but alas....I'm sure soemone would complain. But since we are discussing, it would be nice if a campaign ad couldn't be used as "News item" like they (KIRO) did this morning.....let loose a "O-guy" ad as a news item and what do you get.....20 seconds of free air time.

If he hadn't done such a rapid walk back there would be a funeral pyre where his political career once was.

The last thing Obama should do is listen to Republitards
who want to tell him how to run his campaign.

After all Obama just watched Dumney purchase the Republicon nomination using the most negative, vile, evil advertising campaign ever seen in the history of the universe...at least according to Gingrich.
